Time out, focus, clarification
Sometimes it takes a real incision, a deep dive away from everyday life. We take our time to take a look in peace: What’s coming up? Where are you stuck? What needs clarity? Real attention, structured depth.
What to expect:
In order to provide you with a clear framework for the consultation, we will proceed as structured as possible.
- Initial Assessment
In our first session, we clarify your concern as precisely as possible. What is the situation you are currently in? What factors are causing strain, and what might the desired changes look like?
We discuss your expectations of working with me—meaning we define how exactly I can support you—so that our collaboration is built on a solid foundation. - Interventions
Once we know where the journey is heading, I suggest appropriate interventions. Guided by your concern, we use a variety of methods to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, identify possible solutions, and recognize your resources, so that you leave each session feeling strengthened.
I often give you small tasks to try out solution-oriented approaches in everyday life or to observe unresolved questions more effectively. - Reflection
In our follow-up sessions, we first review how previous interventions have taken effect and how you experienced implementing the tasks. At the same time, we reflect on whether anything has changed regarding your concern and whether you have moved closer to your goals. If necessary, we make course corrections.
This structured approach provides you with a supportive ally throughout your process and helps you quickly gain new perspectives.
Methodological Framework
Integrative Counseling Approach
Integrative counseling means taking a holistic view of your concerns. Body, mind, and soul are equally acknowledged in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation and to explore ways to improve it.
We consider both your different inner parts and the external factors within your environment.
Integration also refers to the variety of methodological approaches I use in my work. Together, we determine which approach is best suited to you individually and shape the counseling process accordingly.
Process- and Embodiment-Focused Psychology (PEP®)
“Emotions largely consist of bodily sensations. Therefore, it seems only logical to involve the body in the process of changing para-/dysfunctional emotions. For this reason, it has become well recognized in the field of psychotherapy — and numerous scientific studies have shown — that tapping can be helpful in reducing anxiety and in the treatment of PTSD.
PEP® is a modern approach developed by Dr. Michael Bohne that combines so-called bifocal multisensory methods (such as EMDR and Brainspotting) with the consistent process-oriented advancement of tapping techniques (such as EFT).
PEP® integrates psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive-behavioral, and hypnotherapeutic strategies and elements. It is a method that activates self-efficacy.
PEP® can be effectively integrated into general psychotherapy, coaching, stress medicine, psychosomatic primary care, and trauma therapy.
The therapeutic attitude underlying PEP® is characterized by lightness, confidence, and humor, while at the same time honoring the existing suffering. Previously unconscious solution blockages and distressing emotional states can be resolved and transformed.
